Valoree Althoff, PRP

Valoree Althoff, MHA, BSDH, PRP was elected as NMSAP President in 2015-2019. She graduated from the University of New Mexico in 2004 with a BS in dental hygiene and 2018 with a Master’s in Healthcare Administration.

Valoree became interested in parliamentary procedure when an important vote was taken at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association House of Delegates convention in 2009. In 2010, she became a member of the NAP/NMSAP. Valoree passed her RP exam in 2013 and received her PRP status in 2015. Ms. Althoff was elected to serve as NAP District 6 Director from 2016-2017 and is currently serving on the NAP Association Relations and Professional Development Committees.


Kay Hannum, Vice President

Kay Hannum, Vice President

Kay Hannum, vice president, is a retired high school English teacher, having taught 46 years in the Hobbs Municipal Schools. She is an at-large member of NMSAP for 6 years. Kay is chairman of the Friends of the Hobbs Public Library, and she is a past president of the board of directors of the United Way of Lea County.
In NMSAP Kay has served on the Publicity committee and the convention rules of order. As vice president she is responsible for securing programs and presenters for the April Smart Meetings. She is also working towards receiving registered parliamentarian credentialing.



Janice Strand, PRP, Treasurer

Janice Strand, PRP, Treasurer

Jan has been an NMSAP member since 2002; she became a PRP in 2005. She has served as NMSAP President, Vice President, and Treasurer. Jan presently serves as Chair of the NAP Youth Committee. She is a charter member of the Santa Fe Parliamentary Unit and an affiliate member of the Albuquerque Parliamentarian Unit. She has presented parliamentary workshops at local, state, and national meetings.

Adam Hathaway, PRP

Adam Hathaway, PRP, Parliamentarian

Adam Hathaway, Professional Registered Parliamentarian, graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication and a Master's Degree in Public Administration.

Adam has been a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and the New Mexico State Association of Parliamentarians since 2005. He is currently the Parliamentarian for NMSAP and serves as its Immediate Past President. He has also served as NMSAP Vice President and Secretary and is a past president of the Albuquerque Parliamentarian Unit.  Adam has taught praliamentary and leadership courses across the country and served as parliamentarian for national, state and local  organizations. He beleives that learning parliamentary procdure and meeting management allows everyone equal access to the process and equal access to democracy.
